Nelson was advised to stop performing per doctors orders.
He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.
Then, over the weekend, there was finally some good news.

He will resume performing on the Outlaw Tour next week.
The next scheduled tour stop is in Mansfield, Massachusetts on July 2.
Despite his age, Nelson is adamant that he has no plans to retire from touring.
At least, not if he can help it.
I have everything I need on the [tour] bus, Nelson toldAARPlast year.
I never have to go into a hotel room anywhere.
Its not that bad."
Working is really good for me, he added.
