Its not a novel experience for many Southerners.

In my head, there are countless examples from my hometown alone.

What Are Southern Nicknames?

It can stem from your formal name, as Mary becomes Mimi or a second-generation name becomes simply Junior.

Thats not how Southerners roll.

Just with one mention of Honey, or Bubba, I know who I think about.

Odds are, many other Southerners do as well, in their own way.
