The affected cashew nuts were sold in six Southern states.
Trader Joes just announced a recall on50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Whole Cashewsfor potential Salmonella contamination.
The contamination was discovered through routine testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration upon import.

According tothe recall announcement, one of the recalled lots tested positive for the presence of Salmonella.
Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella infections are especially dangerous for young children, elderly people, and those with compromised immune systems.
