If you like to go grocery shopping, youre in luck.
If not, I understand.
Youre stuck navigating squeaky shopping carts through crowded aisles and not being able to find the darn jelly.

But what if you gotpaidto grocery shop?

And, yes, shopper is part of her official job title.
Frith decided it would be an easy way to earn money while adjusting to her new city.
Since then, Frith has worked other jobs alongside Shipt.
But recently, she decided to transition to being a full-time Shipt shopper.
You dont get paid vacation or benefits, she says, comparing Shipt to her past jobs.
But the flexibility and the fact that you might make so much hourly makes up for it.
She prefers to work between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The app then sends her order requests within that timeframe, which she can choose to accept or pass.
In her area, Shipt shops typically occur at a Publix or Kroger.
Frith pulls on her snazzy green T-shirt emblazoned with the Shipt logo, required for all shoppers.
She takes a photo of the receipt and uploads it, then takes off to make the delivery.
How Much Do Shipt Shoppers Make?
Most orders are more than $35 because thats when the customer receives free delivery.
The customer also has an option to tip after the delivery.
The option automatically pops up on the app after the delivery.
Frith says generous tippers make up for the more frugal ones.
Right now, Frith works about 35 hours doing four-day weeks.
Including tips, she takes home about $600 a week.
Each Friday, she cashes out.
Challenges of the Job
The biggest downside of the job is gas money.
She just filled up with gas the other day 70 cents per gallon.)
One of her fellow shoppers once had to pick up 24 cases of water.
She cant peruse the list to see if it includes quirky, unrecognizable or tough-to-find items.
She says baby food is always a tough one, with its various brands, fruit-and-veggie mixtures and sizes.
Once, she had to find cat milk.
Thats milk… for cats… in the cat aisle, she says.
(Now you know.)
And delivery isnt always the jam session in the car youre hoping for.
Sometimes, Frith has to drive 40 minutes to make a delivery.
Other times, she has to face the weather.
In early 2016, Frith took advantage of a break in a snowstorm and accepted an order.
When she dropped off the groceries, her Toyota Camry couldnt make it up the customers icy driveway.
He actually hiked down, took the drivers seat (thats trust!)
and maneuvered her car around.
Shes found that bigger orders bring in more profit, but they take more time to fill.
Frith says shes conquered three orders at once.
She just has to check that to keep the bags divided in her trunk.
Its probably all pretty close no matter what you do, she says.
More locations could be coming soon as the service expands, especially with arecent purchase by Target.
