Over half a century of pure sweetness.
Every morning before the clock strikes 5 a.m., the Smoky Mountains get a little sweeter.
These days it’s hard to imagine Gatlinburg without the European-inspired mini-mall known as The Village Shops.

Among that collection of small businesses was The Donut Friar, owned by Carolyn and James Ryan.
Needless to say, they know what they are doing with those donuts.
Both Carolyn and James died in 2021, but their legacy lives on in their beloved shop.
(Three doughnuts count as breakfast, right?)
