Homemade ranch seasoning is fresh, bright, and so much better than anything in a pouch.

Ranch is a universal flavor, at least in the South.

Pork chops are notoriously basic.

They can dry out quickly, and they’re not quite as forgiving as chicken breasts.

The ingredients for the homemade ranch seasoning make enough for two meals.

Transfer the rest of the seasoning to an air-tight jar for later use.

Place the pork chops on a baking sheet, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat the oven to 450F.

Bake the seasoned pork chops for 20 minutes, flipping them over after 10 minutes.

Use a meat thermometer to test the temperature; it should reach 145F.

Remove the baking sheet and transfer the pork chops to a large plate or cutting board.

Allow the pork chops to rest for 5 minutes.

Serve with a light sprinkling of minced chives.

The neutral flavor won’t complete with the homemade ranch seasoning’s flavors.
