That was his way of cheating the system.
He still denies it to this day.
At 82, she has not slowed down one bit.
But one thing has changed.
There is no longer a limit.
Melt butterscotch chips and butter in a saucepan over low heat.
Mix boiling water and baking soda in a small bowl, and add to butterscotch mixture.
Gradually blend in the remaining ingredients.
Drop by slightly rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 10 minutes.
The recipe makes a lot; cut it in half, if desired.
