The new policy applies only to an estimated 700 corporate-owned locations.
Franchise locations are independently owned and operated and are subject to local laws.
The letter outlined a comprehensive expansion of catastrophe pay.
The company also provides free access to mental health counseling and Headspace, a meditation app.
