That is why I am issuing a disaster declaration.

The crawfish industry needs all the support it can get right now.

Louisiana is the nations top producer of the crustaceans that are astaple in Gulf Coast cuisine.

“We’re 80% behind where we usually are.”

The situation has also made mudbugs unaffordable for many in the Bayou State.

Louisiana restaurants are currently selling them for $10 to $12 per pound.
