Beryl hit Texas as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph.

This rainfall will produce areas of flash and urban flooding, some of which may be locally considerable.

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas through the evening.

“Shelter in place.

Stay off the roads,” Whitmire told residents.

Beryl has claimed a total of 17 lives since last week.

“People in the path of Beryl’s track should not let their guard down this week.

Beryl will bring the risk of tornadoes as far away as Ohio.
