Not all silk types should be washed using the same process.

Mulberry silk is what youll most often find used for high-end silk pillowcases.

Its possible to wash mulberry silk in the washing machine in a pinch, though handwashing is preferred.

Here were outlining both processes so youre set for either scenario.

To start, flip your pillowcase inside out and place it in a mesh laundry bag.

opt for delicate cycle on your washing machine and use a mild detergent.

Remove the pillowcase promptly once the cycle has ended.

If wrinkles are present once its dry you might use a steamer to smooth out the fabric.

Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, but longer for more set-in stains.

Once complete, handwash your pillowcase and dry as normal.
