Does All Fudge Freeze the Same?
Baseline fudge ingredientsmilk, sugar, cocoausually hold up pretty well when frozen.
Texture and flavor can change, however, when you start adding other ingredients.
This will have more effect on the texture than the flavor once the fudge is thawed out.
If you plan ahead to freeze fudge, just go ahead and stir the nuts into the mixture.
Here is a pro tip: for best flavor, toast your nutsbefore adding to the fudge.
If using marshmallows, they should also be stirred into the fudge instead of sprinkled across the top.
After cutting, wrap each piece with an airtight wrapping material such as aluminum foil or plastic wrap.
Do not use cardboard containers for storage because the aroma from the box may be absorbed by the fudge.
Do not stack layers of unwrapped fudge as it can stick together when thawing.
Refrigerating will also help preserve fudge until you know you are ready to eat it.
