Do You Really Have to Get Naked?
In my experience, it depends.
Though the instructor wouldve preferred I get totally naked, I wore a small nude thong.
It allowed me to feel comfortable, and didnt really interfere with the artists ability to see my body.
Did you know?
Once youre naked (or close to it), its time to pose.
Get comfortable, because youll have to hold your pose for at least 20-30 minutes.
Being naked and on display can be weird, especially at first.
Oh, and dont worry if you dont have a model body.
This isnt a swimsuit catalog; its art.
And most students are happy to practice drawing the human body in its various shapes and sizes.
In addition to many other resources, ArtModelTips.com has a fantastic list ofplaces that hire art models.
You could also contact local art galleries and studios that offer drawing classes.
Other times, you might have to approach each instructor individually.
If it works out, you might get asked back, or referred to other teachers and artists.
