Apples, cinnamon, and walnuts?
There’s a lot to love about this family recipe.
His family always ate earlier, so we thought we could swing both.

Well, I saw my chance to impress!
The process took an entire day.
Well, at least all morning!
It was definitely a hit that Thanksgiving and with many in my family as well!
Sift flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda into a medium bowl.
In another bowl, beat eggs, oil, and vanilla together.
Add the apple mixture; then fold in flour mixture followed by the walnuts.
Bake in a 10-inch tube pan in a 350F oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
To make our version of White Icing, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Drizzle cooled cake with White Icing; garnish with more chopped nuts.
