Powell said he was scrolling through social media one day when he came across the perfect pup.
He sent the Los Angeles-based rescue a heartbreakingly depressing video of himself explaining why he needed this dog.

Powell took a weekend off from filming to pick up the small white-and-tan pup.
Despite being an Oklahoma boy, Powell gave the dog a decidedly Texas name.
“He’s really an Oklahoma boy at the end of the day.”
“I didn’t eat a lot of barbecue here,” he said.
“I ate a lot of good steak, though.”
