Now, 23 years later,Deadlinereports that the beloved coming-of-age tale is getting areboot.

The tear-jerking original, which starred Mandy Moore and Shane West, was directed by Adam Shankman.
A director has yet to be announced for the new project, nor has a cast been revealed.
“Someone could redo this film,” Moore toldPeoplein 2022.
