Some good news for the hard-hit region.
On Friday, October 11, a 198-mile portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia reopened.
Currently, the road is open from Milepost 0 to Milepost 198.

The open portion starts at Shenandoah National Park and travels south to Virginia Route 685.
The portions included sections from Milepost 314 to Milepost 375.6 and Milepost 393 to Milepost 455.
